I have run a virtual windows box with both bootcamp and parallels but am trying to avoid it. I got the message the first time I launched Homeport but never again. I am looking for software which will allow me to move waypoints back and forth between my at least the XS the SC78 and my MAC computer. The only problems are having compatible media on both devices--usually a SecureData or SD memory card--and compatible file formats. Find More Posts by gmiller Boot camp is the easy way to deal with it. Are there other MAC and Garmin users which can reccomend a solution?

I did connect to the xs via wifi and the app but I couldn't really do much other than register my device. On the Garmin website you can view a list of hmeport that are compatible with Garmin HomePort.

When booted in Windows it is a Windows PC. It took along time to do the map upgrade on the Garmin XS. Often the file-transfer-protocol or FTP method is used. To sum up, Garmin HomePort is offering an streamlined environment and efficient tools for viewing, organizing and managing your GPS maps in order to establish the best route for your trips.
I understand that the xs is on the way out but Homeport seems core to Garmin's marine line. Using Active Captain was my first maac when helping you troubleshoot earlier, but none of your Garmin devices are on this homfport Maybe that explains my frustration; especially if you guys are not having the same problems.
This will allow you laptop to dual boot OSX or Windows. You can use different map views north-up, course-up or map-up or you can choose to export the available data to Google Earth. How are are you loading the charts when using Homeport?
I have and old mac mini. If mav are having trouble signing in, please email feedback thehulltruth. I just do not think it Homeport is working. This will also make a large difference in Homeport performance.

Garmin told me that homeport on a laptop was incompatible gagmin a Mac operating system. I do not recall loading the charts on my hard drive.
